HYPOTHESIS: unindexed absolute read instructions need four external accesses: opcode at PC, address low at PC+1, address high at PC+2, and data at the formed 16-bit address. As with zero page, a traced read followed by the lifted mem_read8 would duplicate mapper or I/O side effects.
