MOS manual chapter 8 sections 8.5–8.6 and 8.11–8.13 define stack storage at $0100+SP, decrement after a push, and increment before a pull. Examples 8.8 and 8.9 make the bus schedule explicit: PHP/PHA fetch the opcode, discard the PC+1 read, then write at the current stack pointer; PLP/PLA fetch the opcode, discard PC+1, discard a read at the old stack address, increment SP, and read the pulled byte.
